PADI Sidemount DiverDiscover a new way of diving... You will love it ;-)
This course introduces you to the sidemount diving configuration, allowing you to dive with tanks mounted on your sides. It enhances your flexibility and comfort underwater.
Sidemount diving is an exciting and versatile approach to scuba diving, where the tanks are carried on either side of the diver’s body rather than on the back. This configuration offers increased mobility, better streamlining, and enhanced safety, making it the perfect choice for divers seeking comfort and flexibility in their diving experience. Whether you’re diving in tight spaces or exploring deeper waters, Sidemount diving provides greater ease and efficiency. At Ko Lipe Diving School, we offer a comprehensive Sidemount Diving Course that not only introduces you to this innovative diving style but also equips you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to dive safely and confidently. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the essentials of Sidemount diving in the pristine waters of Ko Lipe, one of Thailand’s most beautiful and vibrant dive locations.
Ko Lipe’s amazing waters and breathtaking dive sites provide the perfect backdrop for mastering Sidemount diving. With a focus on small class sizes and personalized instruction, Ko Lipe Diving School ensures you receive ample attention to master your skills. Plus, our unique combination of in-depth classroom sessions and hands-on, practical training guarantees you'll be fully prepared for your next dive adventure, whether in local waters or beyond.
The course takes place over three days and includes an e-learning component to give you the flexibility to start learning at your own pace before diving in. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:
Your journey begins with a classroom session where you'll be introduced to the core principles of Sidemount diving. You’ll learn about the advantages of this configuration, dive safety considerations, and the essential gear required. After the theory, the day moves to a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to set up your harness and rig your tanks. The day concludes with a confined water session, where you’ll practice skills, refine your techniques, and make in-and-post water adjustments under the guidance of your instructor.
Day 2 is all about refining the skills you learned on Day 1 in the open water. You’ll complete the first two open water dives, focusing on repetition of essential skills, fine-tuning trim and buoyancy, and making any necessary adjustments to your equipment. This day will be spent diving from a traditional longtail boat to nearby dive sites, providing easy access and plenty of time in the water to practice and perfect your Sidemount techniques.
On Day 3, you’ll complete your third open water dive, reinforcing your skills and reviewing everything you've learned over the past two days. Afterward, you’ll get the chance to enjoy a fun dive, putting your Sidemount experience to the test on some of the most beautiful dive sites in the Ko Lipe National Park. This dive will be done from a larger boat, offering easy access to the stunning sites within the national park.
By the end of the course, you’ll be fully certified and ready to enjoy the benefits of Sidemount diving anywhere in the world!
